Our Environment

I am running to serve and protect our beautiful east metro cities and townships in House District 41A.

As your representative, I will work hard to preserve our way of life and our special connection to the land and water--as I have in Afton as a private landowner, planning commissioner, and city council member. I will fiercely protect our groundwater, open spaces, the wild and scenic St. Croix River, our streams and lakes, our parks, our extraordinary natural environment, and the rural character of many of our cities and towns.

Thirty-three years ago, as a young cop, I bought the land I live on. I transformed former farmland into a conservation parcel of woods and prairie by planting thousands of DNR seedlings, planting native grasses and forbs, and maintaining the prairie and surrounding woods year after year. I'm proud of creating a sanctuary for humans and nature. The residents of this district's communities cherish and share that feeling of sanctuary, and if voters send me to the state capitol, I intend to protect what we cherish.
